About Kailash Manasarovar Yatra

We have started the registration process for the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2018. We Pavitra Kailash Yatra organizes the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra with a collaboration with our parent company – New Way Tourism.

The snowy peak of sacred Mt. Kailash (6714m), is a revered religious and spiritual site for Bonpo, Buddhists, Hindus and Jain followers. The peak is regarded as the “Center of the Universe” by Hindus and Buddhists.

The first saint of Jain is said to have meditated on Mt. Kailash before attaining Liberation -Freedom. Hindus believe Mount Kailash as the abode of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. According to Hindu scripture, a pilgrimage of Mt. Kailash allows one to free from the shackles of ignorance & suffering. Buddhists consider Kailash and Manasarovar as a site where Buddha meditated for years before achieving enlightenment.

Parikrama or making a Kora of Mt. Kailash (Kangri Rimpoche in the local dialect) is possibly the most popular and pious activity among Tibetans and other pilgrims. According to a Buddhist text, a complete kora of Mt. Kailash (Kangri Rimpoche) at least one time allows one to achieve enlightenment.

Another landmark of significance that pilgrims does not miss to visit is Manasarovar Lake (Mapam Yumtso). Situated near to Mt. Kailash, Manasarovar Lake is one of the highest wetlands in the world. Manasarovar in Sanskrit means lack of consciousness. Adjacent to Manasarovar (Mapam Yumtso) lies Rakshas Tal or Lake of Demons. Both these lakes are pristine and majestic, supporting a wide variety of ecology in the Tibetan landscape. Dipping in the lakes and drinking of its water, where once Lord Shiva and his consort Parbati bathed, are regarded by Hindu pilgrims very pious act which helps one to secure a place in heaven and attain Moksha or salvation.

Many thousands of religious people of all sects and emblem, visit Tibet to pay homage to Mt. Kailash and Manasarovar Lake. Besides Tibet is also a land of awe and mystery for the rest of the travelers from around the world.

We organize groups to Tibet every year. We provide professional services, guides, process visa and arrange other logistics. Here is our itinerary for this year.

Our Kailash Manasarovar Yatra 2019 starts from May until September. Please have a look at 2019 itineraries with fixed Kathmandu, Nepal or Lucknow.
